Setting up your stain desk…
02 / WHY IT WORKS✳

Same spill.
Different rules.

A coffee stain on washable cotton is not the same problem as coffee on silk. The material matters, and so does the care label.

01

Start with the gentlest move.

Lift or blot first. Avoid rubbing a spot deeper into the fibres.

↗
02

Let the material lead.

Check wash labels, leather finishes and upholstery cleaning codes before adding liquid.

↗
03

Know when to stop.

Sometimes the smartest fix is a professional cleaner, not another treatment.

A NOTE FROM THE STAIN DESK

We don't promise miracles.
We give you a smarter start.

Stains, dyes, finishes and care labels vary. Our guidance draws on published cleaning and textile-care resources, with safety-first defaults when details are unknown. Always follow product and manufacturer instructions.

04 / THE SMALL PRINT, MADE USEFUL

Good
questions.

Can I use vinegar or baking soda on every stain?+

No. Household hacks are not universal solutions. Acids, alkaline products and abrasive cleaners can damage dyes, fibres or finishes. Never mix household cleaners, especially anything containing bleach.

What if my sofa has an S or X cleaning code?+

Do not try a water-based home treatment. S calls for solvent-based professional methods; X generally means vacuum-only care. If the tag is missing or unclear, ask the manufacturer or an upholstery specialist.

What if the stain is old?+

Dried stains can be harder to remove and may need repeated care-label-compatible treatment. Select “Already dried” in the tool. Avoid heat until a removable garment stain is gone.

Is Stain Solver free and private?+

Yes. There is no account or analytics tracker. Saved plans stay in this browser's local storage, and the app can work offline after its first successful visit.
